The selection of Israel, with 865 points, won the Open ANNP collectively, which ended today at the Municipal Pool of Povoa de Varzim, where the second day of competition was recorded just one win in Portugal.

The English side Middlesex County ASA, who led after the first day, fell to second place, totaling 820 points. Porto was the best Portuguese team in the tournament, witdh 441 points, in third place.

Open ANNP, the Absolute, which takes place next week-end at the Town Pool of Povoa de Varzim, will count with the participation of 436 athletes (256 male and 180 female), representing 44 teams, of which 30 Portuguese and 14 foreigners (seven in Israel, three from Ireland, two from Britain and one in Serbia and Spain).

In this competition, integrated into the calendar of the International Swimming Federation and organized by the Swimming Association of Northern Portugalmay be obtained minimum for the London Olympics.

The Irish teams ESB Swimming Club, Swimming Club and Kilkenny NUIM (National University of Ireland Maynooth) Swim Devils will participate in the ANNP Open, scheduled for 4 and Feb. 5 at the Town Pool of Povoa de Varzim.

Mercedes Peris Minguet, who participated in the Beijing Olympics in 2008, is one of the swimmers Natación Club Santa Olaya.

The Spanish, 27 years, participated in the latest editions of the International Meeting of Povoa de Varzim, being the owner, in this competition, the record of 50 and 100 meters backstroke.

Mercedes Minguet is the current record of 50 Spanish backstroke.

The Club Natación Santa Olaya confirmed participation in the Open ANNP to be held on 4 and 5 February at the Town Pool of Povoa de Varzim.
